John was called to the bar in 1999.

John was admitted to practice in 1994 and to the Bar in 1999.

Prior to coming to the Bar, John worked as a solicitor at a medium to large sized insurance litigation firm which has been the springboard for many prominent counsel, silk and judges.

His practice as a barrister encompasses the broad spectrum of common law matters and he appears regularly in the District Court, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. He also frequently appears at the Personal Injury Commission and in mediations.

He firmly believes in the independence of the Bar and the importance of the cab-rank rule to the administration of justice in an adversarial system. He is briefed by prominent defendants’ and plaintiffs’ firms alike and also often appears in matters against those firms.

John also appears in country circuits.
