James was called to the bar in 1998.
James Sleight came to Australia to undertake professional indemnity work for insurance brokers after having done similar work in London for the medical and dental profession. He escaped the then known firm of Westgarth Baldick only to find himself working for Ashurst in Papua New Guinea.
After returning to Sydney for some years he left Ashursts as a Senior Associate in Commercial and Banking Litigation to be counsel at an international insurer before being called to the bar.
At the Bar his practice evolved from a common law practice to encompass the more complex areas in which he used to practice as a solicitor such as Professional Negligence, Insurance and Commercial.
